What’s a Wet Set?
Besides our modern and durable design, what sets French Barrelettes apart from other heat-based hair curling methods on the market is our wet set method. So, what is a wet setting? Wet setting is when you roll small sections of wet hair smoothly and tightly onto a roller, then when the hair dries, it will dry into the shape of the roller. In our case, French Barrelettes are designed to be rolled into the hair when sopping wet, and then removed once the hair is dry to reveal perfect, smooth curls. Not only does this make the curl itself stronger and more defined, but it is much healthier for your hair. French Barrelettes does not require direct high heat or damaging products to achieve curls. Once the Barrelettes are placed in the hair and are secured with roller pins, the hair can either dry naturally during your night's rest, dry using a hand-held hair dryer, or dry using a hooded-hair dryer. Using French Barrelettes, hand-held dryers, or hooded hair dryers becomes indirect heat tools. The hair is protected around the barrelette, and the heat becomes diffused as it dries the hair. Damage is done in other methods of direct heat tools when heat from blow dryers, curling irons, or flat irons are directly touching the hair from root to tip.
Wet setting your hair with French Barrelettes, once mastered with practice, has several advantages:
- Creates seamless curls without the damaging properties of direct-heat tools.
- Creates longer-lasting curls. Wet setting sets the shape of your hair so it has more longevity than other methods.
- Creates smooth, long curls for naturally curly hair.
- Creates smooth, long curls for naturally straight hair.
- Reduces frizzy hair.
With French Barrelettes, you can enhance the full-proof wet set method with our quality materials and meticulous design. Try a wet set using French Barrelette, and your hair will thank you.
